David Eslick, Chairman and CEO
David Eslick has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, and was most recently chairman, president and CEO of USI Holdings. He led USI’s rapid expansion during the past five years to become the ninth largest insurance brokerage in the United States, negotiating and completing more than 50 acquisitions in the process. Under his leadership, USI doubled its annual revenues, significantly increased its earnings, and through the use of best practices and operational discipline dramatically increased the operating margin of the company.
David joined USI in San Francisco in 1997, serving as a senior vice president of sales. He became president and COO in 1999, and chairman, president and CEO in 2002. He began his insurance career with Ohio National Life in 1979, and has held positions with Prudential Insurance and Acordia (now Wells Fargo Insurance) prior to joining USI. He earned his MBA from Xavier University. David is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and serves on the board of directors of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.
Bill Jeatran, President
Bill Jeatran is President of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh Inc., the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor.
Formerly CEO of our Upper Midwest region, Bill founded RJF Agencies in 1986, and was CEO until its acquisition by MMA in 2011. Prior to founding RJF, Bill was a production underwriter with Aetna. He is a former board chairman of Assurex Global and has served as a board member of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, and on the St. John's University Board of Trustees.
Bill earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from St. John's University.
Ben Newman, Chief Financial Officer
Ben Newman is Chief Financial Officer of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh Inc., the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor. In this role, he is responsible for all financial related functions, as well as corporate development and strategy. He joined Marsh & McLennan Agency in December 2009 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
Mr. Newman has extensive experience in financial services and insurance. Earlier, with USI Holdings, he served in a variety of leadership roles, including vice president of Corporate Development during the period in which it grew to become the eighth largest broker in the United States. Before joining Marsh & McLennan Agency, he was senior vice president of Operations for USI Affinity.
Mr. Newman also has held positions in private equity with Capital Z Partners and in investment banking with Merrill Lynch & Co. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.S. degree in Finance.
Christina Mott, Chief Operating Officer
Christina Mott is Chief Operating Officer of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC where she is responsible for operational best practices, innovation, technology/digitization initiatives and product development working closely with regional MMA leaders and teams across Marsh & McLennan Companies.
Christina joined Marsh & McLennan Companies through Oliver Wyman as Director of Client Solutions then served as Global Head of Innovation for MMC Corporate and Marsh. Prior to Marsh & McLennan Companies, Christina established the US presence for a Swiss-based firm as Chief Operating Officer of Think Tools, Inc. Christina also held positions at Pitney Bowes developing new products as Worldwide Product Line Manager.
Christina earned an MBA in general management from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland and a Bachelor's Degree in political economy of industrial societies from the University of California at Berkeley.
Jack Butcher, Head of Commercial Lines and Business Development
Jack Butcher serves as national business leader of Commercial Lines & Business Development for Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC and is based in its White Plains, New York corporate office. He works with our partners on focused commercial lines organic growth strategies across MMA's platform.
Prior to joining MMA, Jack led the Central United States Zone for Marsh USA. Previously, Jack served as Marsh USA'S National Sales Leader and held client service, sales and geographic leadership roles with Marsh and Johnson & Higgins in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Chicago, and New York. Jack began his insurance career with Chubb Insurance as a P&C underwriter, later joining Johnson & Higgins (a Marsh acquisition) as a commercial middle market broker in Washington, D.C. From 1998 to 2003, Jack served as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of TransForce, Inc., a national transportation/logistics outsourcing company.
A manga cum laude graduate of the University of Richmond, Jack has attended executive education programs at the Harvard Business School. Jack serves on several for-profit and not-for-profit boards. He has been a member of Association for Corporate Growth since 1989.
Sally Prather, Employee Benefits Practice Leader
Sally Prather is the Employee Benefits Practice Leader for Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh Inc. In her role, Sally will serve as the primary liaison between MMA and Mercer. Sally will leverage Mercer's capabilities by tapping into intellectual capital resources, coordinating relationships between Mercer office leaders and MMA leaders, and determining access points within Mercer for needed services and support. Sally's responsibilities also include identifying additional capabilities within MMA and developing a process to leverage them within each agency.Sally was previously a Principal and the National Advisory and Enterprise Practice Manager for Mercer U.S. Health & Benefits.
Sally has been involved in client management for over 20 years, including designing, implementing and servicing employee benefits programs. At Mercer, Sally was part of a team responsible for new product development and client retention activities for Advisory and Enterprise (A&E) clients, with fewer than 5,000 employees. In addition, she acted as senior advisor to a number of clients in the Upstate New York marketplace and led the growth of Mercer's A&E administration platform in the Northeast. Prior to joining Mercer, she was Marsh's Middle Market Practice Leader in Upstate New York. She has a bachelor's degree in human resources from Marietta College and is licensed in life, accident, health, property and casualty insurance.
Jim Quinn, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development
Jim joined Marsh & McLennan Agency in July 2015 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, responsible for managing MMA’s acquisition program. Jim has extensive experience as an investor and advisor to numerous insurance underwriting and distribution companies.
Prior to joining MMA, Jim operated a private consulting and investment firm, Element Private Equity, LLC. Element assisted clients in the areas of due diligence, transaction structuring, and fund-formation.
Previously Jim was a Partner of a middle-market private equity firm, Olympus Partners, where he led a number of successful investments in companies such as the Lloyd’s syndicate Talbot, Bermudian reinsurer Ariel Re, and insurance brokerage firm Tanenbaum-Harber.
Jim began his career in the M&A group at Goldman Sachs. He is a graduate of Georgetown University (BA) and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Diane Rosen, Chief Risk & Compliance Officer
Diane is the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer for Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA) a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh Inc. She has served in that capacity since MMA’s formation in 2009. In her role, she is responsible for the Risk & Compliance acquisition and integration strategy as well as providing leadership and direction on an ongoing basis for that area. Diane has been with Marsh since 2000, servicing in a number roles in the areas of compliance, operations and finance. Her insurance industry experience spans over 25 years and she holds both a CIC and FLMI designation.
Diane is a graduate of Grand Valley State University where she earned a BA in Behavioral Science.
Alexandra von Ferstel, Chief Counsel
Alex von Ferstel has served as MMA’s Chief Counsel since its formation in 2009 and is responsible for the legal aspects of MMA’s acquisition and integration strategy as well as for leading the team advising the agency on all legal matters. Alex has been a member of Marsh & McLennan Companies’ legal department since 1997 and has served in a number of capacities in support of Marsh Inc, including its Latin American and Caribbean region, as well as its global Risk Consulting group.
Alex is a graduate of Tufts University where she earned a BA in International Relations and German. She earned her JD from Fordham University School of Law in 1990.
Sharon Werner, Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Sharon M. Werner is senior vice president — Human Resources of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh Inc., the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor.
During her 24-year career, Ms. Werner has held senior positions in human resources with a number of firms. Most recently, she was managing director, Human Resources with Trinchero Family Estates. Previously, she was senior vice president, Human Resources and chief people officer with Time-Warner's Synapse Group, Inc.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Werner served in a series of positions of increasing responsibility in human resources with Diageo, PLC, culminating with vice president, HR Shared Services.
Ms. Werner earned a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin and a M.S. degree from the University of St. Thomas.
