The Chairman of Marsh & McLennan Agency has a unique understanding of what it takes to build, combine and grow a business. Over the course of his career, he has navigated through a myriad of acquisitions and transitions to achieve increased growth and unmatched success for his companies.
David Eslick has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, and was most recently chairman, president and CEO of USI Holdings. He led USI’s rapid expansion during the past five years to become the ninth largest insurance brokerage in the United States, negotiating and completing more than 50 acquisitions in the process. Under his leadership, USI doubled its annual revenues, significantly increased its earnings, and through the use of best practices and operational discipline dramatically increased the operating margin of the company.
David joined USI in San Francisco in 1997, serving as a senior vice president of sales. He became president and COO in 1999, and chairman, president and CEO in 2002. He began his insurance career with Ohio National Life in 1979, and has held positions with Prudential Insurance and Acordia (now Wells Fargo Insurance) prior to joining USI. He earned his MBA from Xavier University. David is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and serves on the board of directors of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.
Mr. Corrigan joins the firm from Kinloch Holdings Inc, where he had been CFO for the past two years. He has more than 20 years of experience in accounting and financial management, serving in senior roles in corporate finance and operations with Willis in North America, the United Kingdom and Asia. He also has held management consulting positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers. An Associate Chartered Management Accountant, he earned a B.A. Degree in Business Studies from Caledonian University, Glasgow, Scotland.
Lisa Hoffmann is chief information officer of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh Inc., the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor.
Ms. Hoffmann joined Marsh & McLennan Agency in January 2010. She has more than 23 years of experience in information technology, and has served in leadership roles with several firms. She was chief technology officer of Time-Warner's Synapse Group, Inc., chief information officer of Centex Corporation, and she held senior positions in corporate systems, information technology, and global operations with various units of GE. Before joining Marsh, she was president and owner of Optimal Sourcing LLC.
A board member of TBICO (The Bridge to Independence and Career Opportunity), Ms. Hoffmann earned a B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from Bentley College and an M.B.A. from Long Island University.
Ben Newman is senior vice president, Mergers & Acquisitions of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh Inc., the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor.
He joined Marsh & McLennan Agency in February 2010 and is leading the firm’s growth as it builds a national business. Mr. Newman has extensive experience in financial services and insurance. Earlier, with USI Holdings, he served in a variety of leadership roles, including vice president of Corporate Development during the period in which it grew to become the eighth largest broker in the United States. Before joining Marsh & McLennan Agency, he was senior vice president of Operations for USI Affinity.
Mr. Newman also has held positions in private equity with Capital Z Partners and in investment banking with Merrill Lynch & Co. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.S. degree in Finance.
Sharon M. Werner is senior vice president — Human Resources of Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh Inc., the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor.
During her 24-year career, Ms. Werner has held senior positions in human resources with a number of firms. Most recently, she was managing director, Human Resources with Trinchero Family Estates. Previously, she was senior vice president, Human Resources and chief people officer with Time-Warner's Synapse Group, Inc.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Werner served in a series of positions of increasing responsibility in human resources with Diageo, PLC, culminating with vice president, HR Shared Services.
Ms. Werner earned a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin and a M.S. degree from the University of St. Thomas.
